Welcome
After many years of road deterioration caused by low areas flooding, the Village of Bayville assisted in obtaining a grant to build a drainage and outflow system. The Village acted at the request of the BPCA after a majority of the homeowners decided to take up this effort.
The grant fronted by the Village paid for the project, and BPCA homeowners repaid its cost over five years through their Village taxes.
Our mission
The BPCA exists to make sure roadway conditions continue to allow proper drainage from the areas that have traditionally flooded after storms or snow melt. This helps minimize road damage throughout the BPCA area. The work is supported by annual dues, which pay for expenses including, but not limited to:
- annual insurance costs (dramatically increased as of 2021)
- required mailings and other incidentals
- drain clean-outs
- necessary repairs to BPCA roadways to ensure proper water drainage
Drains that were privately placed, and the Violet Road extension (cul-de-sac), which was developed after the drainage system was installed, are not currently supported by the BPCA.
Why pay dues?
- Vote. Up-to-date membership lets the homeowner vote on annual officers, changes to the by-laws, and increases in dues.
- Street repairs. Members in good standing (paid up) have necessary street repairs done, based on sufficient funds in the BPCA account. “Necessary” means repairs inside the street lines (not behind property lines) that are required for drainage and outflow and to prevent pooling and erosion.
- Selling? Real estate agents commonly ask for confirmation of current BPCA membership.
